A team of hikers are taking on a 300km walking challenge

A team of hikers are taking on a 300km walking challenge to support Corner House Youth Project keep a local youth club running. Tanya, Gary and Lindsay, who also work in Children’s Services in Stockton, are respected partners of Corner House. We work with Tanya and her team, to protect and support vulnerable young people in Stockton through collaboration and this seemed like another perfect opportunity to join forces!

Tanya’s team will be raising money by completing 3 grueling challenges.

  • Challenge 1 – The Yorkshire 3 Peaks. 25 miles with over 500ft of mountains to be achieved within 12 hours.
  • Challenge 2 – Jurassic Coast Ultra Challenge. 100km continuous hiking with over 2200m elevation to be achieved in 24 hours.
  • Challenge 3 – Coast to Coast across Hadrian’s Wall. Starting at Bowness on Solway and finishing at Tynemouth covering 150km continuously, with a target of completing within 48 hours.

The team are aiming to raise £5000 which will allow for the sustainability of a youth club for 12 months, in one of the most deprived areas of the borough and in fact, the UK. This area is particularly high risk for Child Criminal Exploitation (CCE) from organised crime groups (OCGs) and youth workers are a key protective element.

We welcome donations of any amount to support this worthwhile cause and support local children, when they really need it.
